About Mountsorrel
We have tried to encompass both old and new aspects of the village.
The History section gives an
introduction to the history of the village, which dates back to Roman times.
For visitors and locals, we have incorporated both a Village Trail, which can be explored
locally and a Gallery of
photographs of the village for those visiting us electronically . The Genealogy Page has a wealth
of information and sources on this subject, about which we get many enquiries.
Wildlife and open spaces
are explored more fully in a separate section. The Annual Garden Gompetition has been running
for some years now and awards prizes for the best kept front gardens in
the village.
The garden competition reminds us of sunnier times and for keen gardeners
as well as walkers who want to explore the village the local weather can also be accessed on
this part of the site.
