Mountsorrel Castle CC was founded in 1880 and its home ground is the picturesque Memorial Playing Fields. These playing fields lie directly to the South of the A6 Bypass, nestling between the By pass and village’s historic ‘main’ Leicester Road. The Fields are bordered at the north eastern end by the Mountsorrel Marshes Nature Reserve and the natural meandering course of the beautiful River Soar and bustling Grand Union Canal. Vehicular access on match days is via Leicester Road, alongside the Parish Room (a small granite building opposite Castle Hill) approximately 200 metres from the Village Green. On non-match days, parking is available to the rear of the Parish Room.

In recent years, the club's facilites have seen tremendous improvements; the most significant being the building of the Centenary Pavilion with its friendly modern club room, licensed bar and first class changing facilities/showers. This delightful brick and mock tudor timbered building is home to the village’s cricket and football teams.

Senior cricket is available at all levels of skill. The 1st XI and 2nd XI squads play in the Everards Leicestershire League. The club also fields a successful team in the local Sunday Friendly League.
