Mountsorrel British Legion began after the 1st World War. Its aim is to raise money to help all people who have been in the services and now need help due to injury or old age. The most well known fund-raising activity is the Poppy Appeal which takes place annually in November.

President: A. M. Coverdale; Chairman: N. M. Clarke; Treasurer: N. Wakeling; Secretary: Mrs. P. Clarke.

Meetings are held at the Mountsorrel Working Men’s Club on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

The Mountsorrel British Legion is affiliated to the Soar Valley British Legion, which has social events every two months at Mountsorrel Working Men’s Club.

Membership is open to anyone.
