Mountsorrel United Charities was set up in 1874 and consists of two
main charities; for the relief of need and the educational fund. The Charities owned land, some of which was sold and the money invested to provide an income. This money is used now to distribute to residents of Mountsorrel who are in need. Relief in Need Fund The aim of the fund is to provide grants to the residents of Mountsorrel who are in need, such as domestic appliances, decorating, carpeting, mobility needs, chiropody, gardening etc. Educational Fund The Trustees meet twice a year to offer grants to the younger residents of Mountsorrel.
